Less than a century ago, Indonesians were still living in fear under the colonization of the Netherlands. Finally, after collaborating with the Japanese military to take back Indonesia from the Dutch government, Indonesia was finally born. Today, it has been 75 years since our Independence Day took place.
Let’s celebrate this Independence Day by remembering our national heroes who have fought for our land. We shall also keep upholding the anti-colonial values that we got rid of in the first place. For there is no freedom under colonial disguise. It is time to regain our sense of nationalism, our love for the country, to keep building our nation to the best of state. Happy Independence Day for us all.
