Happy Eid al-Adha to us all. It is time again to celebrate one of the biggest yearly islamic holiday which honours the great Abraham in sacrificing his son in obeying the comman of Allah and showing his obedience. May this Eid al-Adha would give us all the love and patience from Allah SWT.
In this holy day, we are once again reminded by the holy act of obedience by Abraham in sacrificing his son. In the story that we all know, Allah replaced the son of Abraham with a lamb to sacrifice instead. From then on, during this Festival of the Sacrifice, the rich would buy and sacrifice a lamb or cow to be divided into three parts. One part would be given to the poor and needy, another part would be kept for the ones who sacrificed it, and the third part would be given to their relatives.
Reminded by the great story of sacrifice by Abraham, may we all forever be grateful for Allah’s kindness to us all. May be reminded to be obedient to Allah SWT and be helpful to others in need. One of the things that we could do is to buy and sacrifice a lamb and share it with the poor and needy and also our relatives. However, sharing simple acts of kindness would also already be a good thing.
May kindness and patience follow us all, always.
