A concept of a test bench which relies on testing based on forming gas. Which allows automatic detection of leakages during the body test, detect those leakages at a much quicker rate and at a much lower concentration. ULTRA reduces test times, whereas automation reduces handling time of individual steps.
In our first use case, ULTRA reduced the overall cycle time from load to unload by 70%.
Key Advantages:
- Faster test cycles due to gas’s lower density
- Accurate leak detection through hydrogen traceability
- Proven correlation between gas and liquid test results
- Reduced operational costs and improved throughput

ULTRA – A Testing Concept, Not a Machine
Each valve design and production process is unique, requiring different testing methods. The ULTRA Concept introduces an efficient approach to pressure testing by utilizing forming gas as the test medium. This method ensures accurate, repeatable results across various valve types and sizes, while significantly reducing testing time.

Why Forming Gas
Forming gas, composed of hydrogen and nitrogen, features a traceable component that enables precise leak detection using hydrogen leak detectors. Its lower viscosity compared to water allows for faster leak identification and shorter test durations, all while maintaining cost efficiency and reliability.
How It Works
Compliant with EN12266, the ULTRA Concept supports valve manufacturers in reducing body and seat test durations without compromising on test integrity.
By leveraging the physical properties of forming gas, ULTRA enables faster, more accurate, and verifiable testing results, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
